The Contract

 "Good morning sir," I said after staring at the room, it was silent for some minute before he looked up from his laptop... "Abella, get me my coffee um black with 2 cubes of sugar no cream" 

I made my way out of his office heading to the kitchen where I met with some girls doing the usual, I mean gossip that's not a good way to start your day. I passed them after saying hi, made the coffee, and made my way back to his office... he was standing in front of the window looking so lost in thought.

I cleared my throat "Sir, here's your coffee". I said while making my way to his table and waited for 2 minutes before he made a statement which made me froze where I'm standing. he turned around and stared into my eyes deeply "I said marry me". 

"Sir, I think you need to go to the hospital because there's no way in hell I'm going to marry someone I don't know talk more of my boss" I replied faintly if not I think i/m going to puke.

Don't get me wrong, he's my boss not just that he's freaking cute and with his body looking like its was sculpted by the gods himself. But I'm super shocked, he stepped forward while staring into my eyes with that electric blue eyes... Damn that is to die for.

"Look, Abella, you are not qualified for the job, you've got debts to pay, your father is dying in the hospital, I need a wife thanks daddy dearest I've got 2 months to get a wife and you are the only person I could think of" So This Is what this is about, I thought to myself

"Okay... I know you still confused." He said still staring at me "You need to pay debts right? Good, I would clear your debts, pay your father's hospital bills, pay your sibling's school fees and send you to college. Just be my wife for a year, say yes and I'll tell my lawyer to draw up a contract"

Damn, he sure does have everything planned out... Hmmm. "Alright then," I said with a sigh attached to it, be honest? I'm looking forward to the year and how it would turn out.

"Really? Thanks so much" he said while rushing to his table, picked up his phone to make a call...

"Please, Rachael call me Mr Johnson, my lawyer, tell him it's crucial," I said with excitement in my bones... That was easier than I thought, yes that was because you had her In the spotlight of her weakness my inner self said... What was I supposed to do?? She's single, beautiful and doesn't seem like the type that would be clingy. Ugh now I sound like a real douche

I was staring down at the world from my sky scrapping company when a call came through.

“Mr Johnson, I asked you to come, not call me” I answered angrily
“I'm sorry sir, some clients are coming anytime soon”
“well it's damn important you be here, I don't want anyone hearing about this, so you better carry your damn self here before I burn down your certificate” I dropped the phone... Stupid human!! 

“I need a release, That Jade girl would only jeopardize things for me” I picked up my phone and called my best friend.

“Aaron, are you at the bar?” I asked while packing up my things
“Yeah man, I'm here. I think the others are coming... You hardly come around, or you coming today?”
“Yeah, I'm coming now. Please I need a girl, could you arrange that for me please”
“Sure.”
“Great, be there in 5”

The walls are crumbling.  I can feel it, i know it and they also know it. I sneak a peak at his heart, doesn’t look like i thought. I take a step back, trying to build those walls up again, he tried coming close I used the remaining power left in me, my hands stretched forward in a way of commanding someone to stop. Staring out the window,my knees close to my chest, looking and feeling so confused. “I killed... ” I whispered I'm sure if she's mortal she won't hear me. “You what? Gabby?” “I killed him” I said a little louder than before while still staring out the window, with tears cascading down my cheeks. “Why would you say such a thing” she whispered sounding heart broken. “No, you didn't sweetheart” “I did” I replied feeling confused this time... “Common, Gabrielle, you and I know you didn't kill Daniel”   I narrowed my eyes at her, if not that she's not real I would have stabbed her too “You didn't... Okay, you...” I jumped up facing her looking angry, and I'm sure she could see the smoke coming out of my ears “I DID!!! I REALLY KILLED DANIEL” I raised my voice at her, “You weren't there when it all happened” I whispered while shaking my head “He complained how stressed he is,how depressed he is, how broke he is, how sick looking he is... Yet I never helped...
